It's that time again.

Welcome to the other most prestigious board contest of all time, the Prediction Percentage Challenge!

This challenge was started by swirldude for the SpC2k5. Part of the introduction / rules is from his topic, other parts are from the Oracle Challenge and from solarshadow, and some other parts are from other hosts who have been running this contest throughout the years, which include: Lagoona, Lopen, th3l3fty, and yours truly, so full credits to all of them!

The Challenge

For each match in the GameFAQs Rivalry Rumble Contest, you predict the percentage of valid bracket-makers that correctly predicted the winner of the match in the Bracket Challenge (not Battle Challenge). The closer your prediction is to the actual percentage, the more points you will get. New participants will always be accepted throughout the contest!

In Round 1, you can make a prediction for either of the two rivalries (as the other's percentage would be assumed to be 100-x). Starting with Round 2, I advise you to make predictions for both contestants because 100-x cannot be applied anymore! If you think the winner is obvious you can go ahead and only give a prediction for one rivalry. But beware: if you are wrong and I didn't get a prediction for the actual winner, you get 0 point, so be wary or you'll be sorry!

Please use a new line for each of your predictions, as this will facilitate the evaluation of the results (by the use of o mighty Lopen's script), e.g.

Mario vs. Bowser - 95%
Earthworm Jim vs. Queen Slug-for-a-Butt - 4.47%

OR

Mario vs. Bowser with 95.55%
Earthworm Jim vs. Queen Slug-for-a-Butt with 4%

but NOT

Mario vs. Bowser 3 95%, Earthworm Jim vs. Queen Slug-for-a-Butt 5.47%, etc etc

The Scoring

Points will be awarded according to the formula 50-x, where x being the difference between your prediction and the actual prediction percentage.

Example for Round 1:
Your guess: Mario vs. Bowser with 99%
My guess: Earthworm Jim vs. Queen Slug-for-a-Butt with 5%
Actual result: Mario vs. Bowser defeats Earthworm Jim vs. Queen Slug-for-a-Butt and 99.45% of brackets called it correctly.
Your score: 50 - (99.45-99) = 49.55
My score: 50 - (5-(100-99.45)) = 45.55

Example for Round 2 and later:
Your guess: Mario vs. Bowser with 90%
My guess: Ike vs. Black Knight with 10%
Actual result: Mario vs. Bowser defeats Ike vs. Black Knight and 93% of brackets called it correctly.
Your score: 50 - (93-90) = 47
My score: 0 (!!)

Rules (Read them!)

1) All predictions must be made before the END of the match in question (at exactly 12:00pm/am EST, 11:00am/pm CST, 9:00am/pm PST for the night/day match respectively). Predictions submitted after this time will NOT be counted. No predictions will be accepted after the poll has ended, regardless of the end time.
2) Your prediction does not need to be different from everybody else’s guess. However, intentional and continuous prediction mimicry will not be allowed.
3) You may change your prediction for any match at any time, subject to the other rules.
4) You may NOT delete or edit any post in a prediction topic (if you do, please post immediately after to explain the deletion). This is to prevent abuse of the above rules and to reduce confusion.
5) You may predict matches in advance if you need to. Please make this very clear.
6) I reserve the right to disqualify a pick for any justifiable reason.

Additional comment: I will attempt to update the results / standings frequently, but it won't be as soon as the results come out because it is not automated like the Oracle, so if someone is willing to takeover or help with this contest, let me know! Feel free to help with the bumping, saving and creating new topic when necessary as well. Gracias!
