Big Boss/Revolver Ocelot in MGS3, it's classic because it starts with one of them getting their ass kicked, getting some advice from their enemy, then is beaten again but allowed to live because he's still young, then ends with them ducking it out with as equals. But the bad guy is actually the underdog, while you're the initially far superior combatant.
