Theocracy- Mirror of Souls: Christian metal, and easily the best album I've heard from that subgenre and a personal fave.
Kix- Midnite Dynamite: An under-the-radar album from the world of hair metal, with the hilarious album-ender "Sex."
Second South Carolina String Band- All four albums: This is a band playing authentic folk tunes of the Civil War era. Quite fun if you enjoy history at all.
Diamond Head- Lightning to the Nations: The album that inspired Metallica and in some ways started modern metal.
F-Zero X OST: Notably, this soundtrack is not simply the game's tunes in CD format, but instead it consists of more developed remixes of every track. As such, it easily holds its own as an instrumental album.
