It happened in the Chapter 4-4 tower (the one you have to ascend right before the Salazar fight). Remember the area with two zealots who pull a switch that sends huge barrels rolling your way? When you reach it, a handful of zealots enter from the door underneath you. I usually kill them with those same barrels, but this time, I ran down there and tappatappatappa with the Chicago Typewriter. While I stupidly can't be sure, I think the first guy I killed on my way down gave me 19,800 pesetas. I accidentally closed the text box before I could be sure, but that's the number I thought I saw, and it looked like it had one more digit than the usual money drop amounts. I had checked my money total just a minute or two before (it was just a hair under 400,000), but it was now 420,000. Inexplicable, because I didn't beat any bosses, midbosses, or even encounter a merchant.
This is a big deal. Know why? Cuz RE4 is a big deal. Every inch of this game has been explored by a zillion people, but I've never seen or heard about anything like this happening. Low-tier enemies never really drop more than 3,000 PTAS, and usually under 2,000. The fact that one would drop 19,800 is crazy, because only one non-boss enemy (Iron Maidens) drop more. Hell, only four bosses in the whole game drop more.
Has this happened to anyone before?
