Disagree there a lot. ded has tons, tons more emotion than virtually any other song all on its own. Knowing goldenslaughterer helps, but it isn't necessary.
I don't know how to describe it, like you know how it's a good game/movie/book/whatever when you can feel yourself "attached" to it? It's the same with music for me. ded never did that for me - maybe ded has too much emotion as you said - it lacks focus and becomes confusing. sure ded is far superior composition-wise, but knowing what gs is is what sets ded on its "proper emotional path" so to speak to attach into.

goldenslaughterer is awful and the context makes me hate it even more (though i think that's the intention of the song)
the first night after hearing it in context, i was trying to fall asleep and my air conditioner made a noise similar to goldenslaughterer's opening and it scared me ****less
exactly as I feel, but I guess over time I welcome that feeling rather than hating it even though deep down inside I don't actually welcome a feeling like that at all, but I just keep coming back for more like I'm addicted >_>
