Dammit, I really don't understand why my jungle Riven isn't working. I'm running AD reds, armor yellows, flat CDR blues, AD quints, going QWEE, going wolves-wraiths-golems-recall-blue-wolves-wraiths-red, but it ultimately just never works out. I always end up being the most useless person on my team and I just don't get why.
Your Qs have to hit EVERYTHING. Fail to hit some creeps and you're out. It's an exercise in creep kiting.
No, no. I can jungle perfectly, I have absolutely no problems with that. I just end up failing in ganking and team fights, which are a bit more significant than my jungle route.
(take this to the other topic with your next response)
What are you buying and how are you ganking?
I start with Vampiric Scepter. After I recall at the mini-golems, I grab a cloth armor and a potion. After that I grab blue, and this is about the earliest I might start ganking if it looks possible, if not, I continue to red. If I still can't gank, I do the jungle again. I always build Wriggle's first, then boots of speed, then brutalizer, then I upgrade my boots (Merc's if necessary, Lucidity if not). It's at this point I'm lost as to what to build.
As for ganking, I basically just wait for someone to overextend, rush in there with valor, hit them, stun them, use my Q, and keep attacking. I must be doing something wrong because only occasionally do my ganks succeed.
Make sure you alert your teammate to when you move in.
Riven has amazing gank potential - she can easily gank at level 2 if the enemy is extended enough.
