If calling those FE11 and FE12 is dumb then we should really only be on like FE9; isn't 3 a remake of 1 (but then with new stuff at the end)
I think the original portion of FE3 is about as long as the remake portion of FE3, so it strikes me as reasonable to argue that FE3 counts as an independent game while Shadow Dragon does not.
That said: Shadow Dragon is FE11, the FE3 Book 2 remake is FE12, and this new one that I'm really hoping they localize is FE13. Anyone who doesn't like that had better start coping now. Yes, the unofficial system used by fans to reference games in the relatively small Fire Emblem series is not the same as the official system used by Square to reference games in the mammoth, remake-laden Final Fantasy series. Deal with it.
