This is my philosophy as well. But everyone I've spoken to who have gone through this process before tell me it's the wrong way to approach it and that companies expect you to negotiate. That's kind of why I was looking for anecdotes. <.<
Here's an anecdote: You don't negotiate with entry level jobs.
Save the negotiations for when you are currently employed and are looking at other companies
