If a guy "flirts" with your girlfriend, and you punch him, that's just you not having any confidence in your relationship or yourself. Guys flirt with my gf and I just let it happen because I know she loves me, so why make a big immature scene over nothing. If they're actually making out with her, you probably should punch them for it because either she he's forcing himself on her, or you are a huge wuss. You should also break up with her while you're at it.
As I've said, I thought he was talking about the second one (I'll admit, I was confused he could get away with such a thing, but whatever).
Since it was just the first one, then yeah, punching would obviously be way too harsh a reaction.
