So you're saying you want an entirely new generation that just happens to have completely terrible 1998 graphics?

I don't think this should be a mainline title! Rather, I think it should be a relatively minor downloadable title, along the lines of Pac-Man Championship Edition, Mega Man 9, etc.

To get more specific about the idea, I think it'd be a mix of old and new. The gameplay would have most of the changes implemented in later titles: breeding, Dark/Steel types, physical/special split, abilities, Sp. Attack/Sp. Defense, stuff like that. The AI also wouldn't be as braindead as RBY's was, and there'd at least be some of the newer Pokemon included.

But on the other hand, the visuals and soundtrack would be completely, 100% retro. The game could take place in Kanto again, with some changes added to the overworld here and there, as well as some outright new areas. Maybe even a Battle Tower/Battle Frontier sort of thing.

I mean, I think that'd be badass! I hope I'm not the only one.
