Well, none of ours were very good, so I'm gonna go with a guy I called the Sub Mayor, who I came up with on a whim and decided the players couldn't talk to the real mayor. The Sub Mayor was a gigantic jerk for no reason, this made my players hate him immensely, convinced he was evil and obviously behind the schemes perpetrated against this town and obviously killed the mayor. None of this was true of course, but the players wouldn't stop, they used detect evil on him and then decided to try to arrest him in the middle of the town square with no evidence. So, I decided to make him actually a devil in disguise and we had a nice big fight.
It was pretty funny the way they completely overreacted in the face of dickishness.
