Saving a lot doesn't help if your power goes out. It could simply wipe out all your saves.
Uh, what? I've never heard of this happening.
Sure, I've heard of corrupting/erasing the save you were making when the power goes out, but unless a power surge fried your system, I fail to see how it could erase all of the save data (and ONLY the save data, nothing else) from your game.
