I've always heard them called front pockets but does anyone really need to care what they're called? As long as no one is putting their wallet in them (because that is HERESY and only done by horrible people) it's all fine
I'd notice someone reaching into my front pocket much easier than I'd notice someone reaching into my back pocket. Plus sitting on my wallet just feels weird.
