Like doctor who ever let plot get in the way of character drama.

Yeah...

The hitler thing ended brilliantly imo. They tease you with the episode name, so all summer you are expecting a nazi adventure and hitler assassination. The last thing you would expect is saving hitler, stuffing him in a cupboard and more river song drama. If we don't see those time travel people again, I will be somewhat surprised; I happened to like their person ship shapechanger thing. I agree, the gas was a bit lame (but I liked the "that actually worked!" bit upon reentering the tardis), and the robots in the robot were likewise bleh. Too slow and preying on audience fear, but this is doctor who...campyness is par for the course...

I can't say it was the best episode ever, but I'd rate it a bit above average.
