Ok, so they seemed to have upped the customization a bit (two guys behind me talked about how much better ME1 is than ME2. I didn't strangle them because they seemed like nice guys). I especially liked the ability to add/change aspects of your gun.
The cover system has been revamped, but not necessarily for the better. Pressing A doesn't just move you in and out of cover anymore. You have to move your thumbstick in a certain direction. If you don't, Shepard does a side-ways roll into either A) another section of cover (which sucks when you want to rush enemies or just plain move forward) or B) right out into the open. You have to make sure you're thumbstick is pushing forwards so you can rush out of cover.
The omni-blade appears to be straight up broken. It kills anything in one blow and there's no recharge time. Plus, they gave us an inflatable version of that, and that's awesome.
But for the most part, I am highly pleased with what I've seen, even if the cover system is a bit wonky. I'm expecting it to be an issue more of getting used to it than it being legitimately not good.
