How can you say the story is terrible??
Because it was a bizarre hodge-podge of so many different things that it becae utterly incomprehensible, all semblance of sanity and drama lost in a sea of bathos and pop culture references. Keep in mind though, that this made it extremely entertaining. The game got everything wrong, but so right.
Also, the real best horror game of the generation had its sequel announced today, just so you know. There's already a topic about it.
