FF8 is my favorite game of all time.
I don't know if I'd say the budget went to the right game. Xenogears is absolutely incredible...then you get to disc 2. It probably would have been far and away my favorite game ever if disc 2 wasn't messed up. Admittedly, it doesn't bother me as much on a replay. I think it's because I know what's coming.
