Dante, an old companion of mine and one of the most trustworthy. It is said that he can predict what's about to happen up to five seconds in the future with 100% accuracy, though I have no evidence on hand to either confirm or deny this - that said, it wouldn't surprise me. Dante, while perhaps not always a gentleman, is most definitely scholarly. He told me a parable in 1998, before either of us had even heard of GameFAQs, about a man with a boat. In the story the man built a boat himself with which to sail across the sea to find his true love on the other side. The first night afloat the boat sprung a leak, and the man, clearly shaken, took off his shirt and plugged the hole. The next day two more holes appeared and he had to use some of the food he brought to seal them. Eventually the boat became so full of holes that the man was nude and hungry and sunburnt so badly that he couldn't move an inch. His boat sank and the man died. When I asked Dante what the moral of his story was he replied, "Never try to sail across the ocean on a boat you've built yourself unless you're extremely wealthy and also a master boat builder."
I've heeded his advice ever since.
