My Score
9.1 - The start to one of my favorite 3 gaming series (The other being FF and MGS). For a game which was released in 1995, Suikoden easily outshines EVERY SINGLE game released at that time, storyline-wise.
I don't care if Suikoden games have simplistic plot compared to the likes of Xenogears and such because they have a far better way of presenting it and draws the gamer completely in the story.
Although Suikoden I is not as good (or even nearly) as its sequel (the godly Suikoden II) it is WAY better than a LOT of RPGs in terms of the story. However S1 does have various flaws like Tir not being able to run w/o a certain Rune or the game being way too short (20 hours 1st playthrough)
