There are plenty of things wrong with the 3DS. No games yet, the 3D gimmick driving up the price, low battery life. But an $80 price drop is nothing but good. It was overpriced at $250, now it's at least somewhat reasonable.
Good for consumers, maybe. A price drop of that magnitude within 6 months is a sign of a system that is doing really bad. Theres a reason that Nintendos stock fell off a cliff after that price drop.
It was likely doing really bad because it was overpriced. I'm not sure how you aren't understanding this argument.
