A computer virus took over everything and the city of Corinth is the only place safe from its machine empire. The rangers are the general's youngest son who is trying to prove his worth to his father and earn his respect and love while his dad doesn't give any both because he's the youngest and likely his favorite and also because the eldest son was lost in combat not long before. I haven't finished the series, but I expect the brother to come back in some way. He's Red. Blue ranger is a Scottish mechanic who always tries to do the right and noble thing, but it somehow backfires. He usually ends up fixing his mistakes noticing he missed a few small details. Yellow's a motorcycle-riding tomboy hottie with a crush on Black... except before the war, she was a spoiled rich princess who treated her faithfully doting butler like a bigger piece of furniture than the Ushiromiya family did in Umineko. It's for comedy and the butler's awesome, but you can tell how much she was affected by his love, her parents' mission to marry her off, her friends' selfishness, and how much she needed to grow up to survive. Black's part cyborg and reluctant hero. At the point I'm at, he's constantly searching for his sister and clues towards his past (he's an amnesiac cyborg) while also fighting off an infection of the Venjix virus. Ranger Series Green's a goof. He was originally a sidekick, sort of an Alpha 5 but even less competent. Then to stop a villain (the very hot Netaya 7) from stealing ranger gear, he equipped the suit himself and bonded to it. Now he's the plucky comic relief who fights worse than Billy in his early days. It's actually not as annoying as it should be. He's Xander. All heart, but no hope in a fight. He was working his way up in the mob before he stole one of their cartels. It was full of medical supplies and he gave everything out to orphans, but didn't tell anybody for fear that they'd crack down on the orphanage.

There's also Dr. K, the creator of the RPM Rangers. <3. She's got some huge backstory that I don't want to spoil. Dr. K is my favorite character in the cast. She's sheltered, somewhat autistic, suffers no fools, chews out Ranger Series Green (probable romantic tension), has very weird girl talks with Yellow, and explains a ton of Power Rangers lore like the morphing grid and zords and why the suits aren't spandex (she will go ape**** if you call the suits 'spandex'). Hell, the whole series is like a deconstruction of Power Rangers tropes. I just linked to the second Choice Video and now I'll link to another that follows it because it's just... it's brilliant.

- Watch until about 4:55. So good!

There's also a Gold and Silver Ranger who... are wack-jobs. They are hyper-intense man-children who LOOOOVE EXPLOSIONS! BOOM! POW! KABOOM! They're impulsive, not afraid of anything, run into the thick of things with little regard for plans or strategy, and should have been killed five times over by where I am. I don't hate them. This is not me hating them. They're actually refreshing after they grow on you and stop shouting explosion noises ever two minutes.

You know what? I think I'm going to find out where I left off and finish it up now. I've gotten through all the seasons including that ****-tastic Power Rangers Samurai in the beginning and think I made my case clear for why it's so high up (answer: because I wrote 32000 characters on it and haven't gotten sick of it since I started 12 hours ago).
