Yeah, not having Tana or Vanessa at a good enough level to go north and deal with the Mogall hordes as they arrive also hurts me, since it means whoever is on the north bridge has to put up with them, and that isn't easy since the number of characters who take them plus whatever else comes at them from the boat is roughly 2. I also had terrible luck with the promoted zombie enemies (enemy? I can't remember if there's more than one or not), they have no stats but strength and HP and yet they kept managing to hit me, and that tends to hurt pretty badly.
