For me, it depends. This stuff usually happens to me not too long before I wake up, anywhere from an hour to a half-hour. For example, one time when I was in 5th grade I dreamed about my sisters trying to blow up a car with a food bomb or something, and another time there was a dream that was completely and totally insane. It had something to do with fighting Nazis as a member of the British army, the X-men, a baseball game that ended after one pitch, and gerbils that looked like cakes.
