I'm a little rusty on some of my video games, but isn't EDI and Cortana Computer AI's and not actual Robots/Androids?
"Artificial life or intelligence created by another species". This includes physical robotics as well as artificial AIs that may not have solid bodies, but at least have a distinct "character".
I think they're fine, really. I voiced some reluctant dissension toward The Doctor from Star Trek Voyager making it in earlier because he's a hologram, but he also fits that rule's bill, so yeah.
