679 of the most popular fictional characters in the world have gathered together to let Board 8 decide who among them is the Most Excellent! The characters stem from all corners of the media world including; Films, TV Shows, Cartoons, Anime, Disney, Videogames, and Literature.

Only 43 of the best remain! The contest will turn back to pools for a good old fashion Immune/Boot competition! The basic rules for this are simple. To cast a vote, simply assign +2, +1, -1, -2, to four of the characters in each pool. Give positive numbers to those you like best and give negatives to those you don’t like that much.

The underlying rules of an Immune/Boot round are a little harder to explain. The characters will be grouped into 6 pools of 7 characters each (one lucky pool will have 8 characters in it). Once a day, the character with the lowest assigned points in each pool will be eliminated while the character with the highest assigned points will be blessed with immunity and travel scot free into the next round. The following day will see another eliminated and another capturing immunity. Points will NOT carry over from previous days. The round will continue until the last character remaining in the pool is left (except for the pool of 8, in which there will no one left because it has an even number). After the five pools have been whittled down to their last remaining contestants, those 5 characters will be grouped into a separate, all new pool and another Immune/Boot round will begin. When the last character is left in that pool, that character will be given immunity by default.

At the point of the round where less than 4 characters remain, only +2 and -2 will be applicable numbers to assign. After the round is over we should be left with 22 characters. This round should last 8 days total. Characters will be assigned pools based on how well they did in the last round. To see these results, please visit the results and discussion topic. There will be an even mix of best records, middle records, and worst records in each pool. Voting will last for 24 hours. There will be no vote changing allowed. No rallying or alt voting will be allowed.

The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
