It's really easy. Download DS3 Tool from motioninjoy, and it has buttons to automatically install drivers and such. The main problem is that you need to start a program for the controller to be recognized. And you need to manually click a button to turn on 360 controller emulation, which is what you need for 90% of games. It's not a big deal at all, but it's still annoying.

Sure, a 360 controller is literally just plug and play, which is convenient, but you NEED a wired one. The wireless ones just charge, and most people obviously have the wireless ones.

The DS3 drivers are also great because you can customize so much about the controls. You can change what each button does, what the deadzones and sensitivity of the analog sticks and such. I don't use it often, but it's useful for some games, and especially emulation.

Also you can do the typical wired mode which lets you charge and play at the same time, but if you have a bluetooth dongle you can do wireless as well.
