Absolutely superb film with great action and heart. Donnie Yen, who is usually incredibly eccentric, gives a superb performance and his most subdued one as well. Anyone who hasn't seen it should watch this and the sequel ASAP :D
How does the sequel compare? I have it on my instant queue but I'm hesitant to ruin this amazing story.
The sequel is definitely more action oriented and does have a bit of a Rocky vibe to it but it is still quite good. I don't think it is better than the first but definitely worthy of being a successor. Also, the fight between Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung is the stuff of kung fu movie legend :)
