Alright, well if I don't share my thoughts on PatF now I won't get to in this topic I guess. Just wasn't prepared (at all) to do it this low.

This film is really great, and lately I've heard several people say not so great things about it. I partially blame Tangled's success in a way, since it outperformed PatF both critically and commercially people now can write PatF off as not being actually as good as it was made out to be. It has all the intangibles the great Renaissance favorites did; leads with personality, a villain with stage presence and an enjoyable soundtrack.

Naveen and Tiana were a great couple in my opinion. The premise is unique; hard-working girl and arrogant, lazy prince. I found Tiana to be very endearing personally speaking, most princess characters are looking for love. That goes from the classics in Snow White and Cinderella to the modern day fan favorites in Belle and Jasmine. All in some way dream of the fairytale romance and long for the dashing prince to make their lives better. Tiana wants to make her own life better by doing it herself, and in my book there is NO princess with a better message to send to young girls than Tiana.

I found Naveen very likable once he started to realize he was largely wrong and that his predicament was his own doing. His attempted proposal when they were frogs and the end scene where he tells Charlotte that he wants to make sure Tiana gets her dream because she is his Evangeline (this is also touching because he did it in such a way as to not let Charlotte know his true feelings, since at this point he had reformed into a gentleman).

Facilier has all the flare from the Renaissance period as well. Few villains have a better song than he does and his plans are a little different from the typical villain. While he desires power as many Disney Villain alumni do, his life is also on the line due to his shadowy pact. He's also of but a few villains to actually kill one of the heroes during the course of the film, and his death scene is perhaps one of the scariest and most wicked out there.

Semi-rant, first real disappointment in placement on this list (at least the only one that truly surprised me, anyway).
