I just can't fathom willingly destroying things like that. I could understand giving possessions away if one wished to live a less materialistic way of life, but destroying? Destruction rarely brings about positive results (unless what is being destroyed is a blight upon society, but even that is subjective and brings about a vicious cycle...)

All in all, this is just weird. Why does religion make people do such weird things? We need a religion based around logic!


Well, while I disagree with it, if you believe it's a sin you shouldn't be giving it to other people.

That's like saying "Hey, the One Ring is corrupting me. Instead of destroying it, I'm just going to give it to some guy from Gondor"
