We had 3 ferrets and 2 cats at one time. The ferrets were there first and we brought the cats in when they were about 6 months old. They never really "got along" but they eventually learned how to co-exist. I've seen pictures of cats and ferrets cuddling together and always though "awww, it would be awesome if my guys could do that". Maybe one on one will be easier.
