The beauty of Tekkit is that you're not really forced to learn anything if you don't want to. You could just play with the vanilla stuff if you want. Then, later on, you could start with new stuff if you want.
You don't need to learn everything. I still don't know how to take advantage of certain mods, and I'm still into it.
Just start doing what you know how to do. Get some good tools, and start building stuff. Explore. Have fun. There's also some starter equipment in the Bro House meant for anyone to use so they could get started on things. Feel free to play with them.
