- HDMI and standard def ports being RIGHT next to each other, along with fat standard/component cable, making it impossible to plug HDMI and regular in at the same time</p>
I don't quite understand why this would be a problem?

I have a monitor with no sound, so I have HDMI for video and I wanted to use the white/red standard cables for sound through my speakers. I have the same setup for my PS3.
And by newer, I mean the black 360 as opposed to the white one.
