LoS was more of a level-based action game. It had platforming kinda like Uncharted and combat kinda like God of War. It was a decent game and I think unfairly maligned by those who won't accept non-Metroidvanias.

The combat had an interesting hook with the magic system. You didn't really have magic spells, you just activated either light or dark magic which enhanced your normal attacks; light magic healed you when you attacked enemies, while dark magic increased your damage. The interesting part came in because enemies only dropped the orbs that fueled your magic when you hit them with no magic activated. You could then absorb it to refill either your light magic meter or your dark magic meter (or I think you could do it half and half). So you were constantly switching between light magic, dark magic, and no magic to keep things going, and I believe you needed to try to keep your combo going and do things like parries which cause more of the magic orbs to drop.

Wouldn't mind seeing that magic system return at all.
