Few other tidbits...

Raw and SmackDown also both got B-shows in the mix as well, as Heat became Raw exclusive, while Velocity became SmackDown exclusive.

One superstar making a big return at this time was Eddie Guerrero. He was written off via injury by Albert and sent to rehab in Summer 2001. After being arrested for drunk driving, Eddie was released by WWF in November that year. He competed in the independent circuit for about 2 months before being rehired by the WWF. Eddie returned in April 2002 and began feuding with Rob Van Dam.

The only superstar in the entire draft that made zero appearances after said draft was the final pick, Perry Saturn, partially because of his torn ACL in April 2002. He was sidelined and eventually released before the year ended.

Another team that split up due to the draft was The Hurricane and Mighty Molly; Helms went to SmackDown, while Molly was drafted to Raw, where she would soon ditch her super heroine gimmick.

Brock Lesnar made a commanding debut, interfering in a hardcore title match between Maven and Al Snow the night after WrestleMania. Instead of joining in the carnage and winning the title, however, Lesnar decided to demolish everyone in the ring with hardly any effort. Get ready for the best two-year career ever, and it starts at Backlash! >_>

With Hogan's unexpected face turn at WrestleMania, the nWo was basically Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. On top of that, Nash injured a bicep during a match with The Rock after WrestleMania. So when Hogan and Rock seemed to have the upper hand, X-Pac makes his first appearance since last Fall and joins the nWo. Rock would only appear for the first SD after the draft to convince the fans and the staff to make Hogan the #1 contender, and defeat Chris Jericho 1-on-1. He would then be gone for three months (minus a surprise appearance in June).

Finally, Mark Henry's latest attempt at being important was basically a face doing tons of strongman stuff, displaying his superhuman strength. As you will see over the next few ppvs, this will not be relevant at all.
