1) And then you don't have a boomshield, plus spoilers, that heal is ****tastic. On a 3k HP target, with 300 AP...you heal less than 500 HP. Soraka with the same AP heals you for 570 HP, and then slaps an armor buff that turns you into a tank for the duration on top. Note that I'm working off the best-case scenario of the 3k HP target having 1 HP on Karma's case. In a real scenario you'll heal for peanuts. And if we compare group heal to group heal, Soraka literally doubles Karma's best-case heal without any caveats.
2) The shield is great, no doubt. Problem is that it's the only piece of her kit that doesn't suck balls.
3) No, he was a baddy. Orianna and to a lesser extent Lux are counters to Morde. Other people most certainly aren't, and Morgana is super free because sure, you can't force her out of the lane, but you don't NEED to. You can just permapush until the tower goes down.
Twitch and Teemo are counters to morde. They can both poke with an auto and shred the shield with true damage/poison.
