I made this gif to point out the difference between BW's Unova, and the new unova.
I personally don't think the ice is gameplay relevant. I think they just threw it on there so we wouldn't be able to see the whole map
Hmm. Interesting. It seems like the eastern coast has noticebly changed. I think a new island can be seen under the ice. And the area around the Pokemon League seems different.
