Actually, the definition of a drug is that it has to be synthetic. Anything natural is classified as a poison or a venom. So at worst, weed is a poison.
I just posted the top definition from google/mirriam webster. So, while I'm sure it's defined different ways, you can't really say the definition I said isn't valid, and marijuana is indeed a drug. Not that that's a bad thing.
