You can easily find apartments for $1500 or less in every borough outside Manhattan. I dont see the problem with there being a lot of people in the city. I like that atmosphere much more than a boring town with 5 people in it. The city hasnt been dangerous since the 90s so I dont know where youre getting this info about the crime rate being high. There are a lot of other cities with much worse homeless issues like LA or Sam Francisco. And we get heavy snow maybe once a year if that
