But I'm getting a bit tired of these meta crossover plots all of the time. It's getting a bit samey. It wouldn't surprise me if Mario has some sort of meta plot too. masterpug53 posted... I don't want to turn my nose at this just yet, but I gotta say that I'm pretty over these big IP multiverse mashups at this point. After Ready Player One and Space Jam: A New Legacy they just feel like a cynical flex on the studio's part, and they don't feel nearly as special and unique as Who Framed Roger Rabbit did. The Ducktales reboot is the only recent example I can think of where I genuinely enjoyed / appreciated these kinds of callbacks (which is ironic, considering how the Rescue Rangers were used in that show - I honestly thought we were getting a rebooted spinoff series based on that when I clicked on the topic title, similar to how they're spinning off a Darkwing Duck reboot.) The Lego Movie did it well but that makes sense for the property. Wreck-It Ralph was fun too sicne video games on the big screen wasn't a big thing yet.
