They have some misplaced nostalgia for a Soviet Union they never even experienced, and are willing to forgive imperial aggression as long as it's colored red (not that Russia isn't an authoritarian capitalistic state) I was sorta thinking maybe its cause those Americans have angst towards their own country and so they support China or Russia simply for being the enemy superpower.
