Are we talking strictly from a fighting from/out of Ukraine scenario?

In that scenario, US could long term defend Ukraine basically indefinitely so long as the public support it.

A straight fight with all cards on the table just between US and Russia, no allies?

Russia doesn't have the naval power to invade the US so the war would strictly be in Russian/Ukrainian territory. So long as US has Alaska and can exert control over the Pacific, US can blockade the eastern half/majority of Russia and then focus efforts on the Western half.

But really it depends on what the goal is.
I'd say the capacty to fend off war fatigue is a lot higher on the US side. We have a much stronger economy, with the ability to ruin russia's economy with sanctions. The russian public will be screaming for them to end a war a lot sooner when they can't get basic necessitates for months on end, where the US public will be living more of a normal day to day.
