He even says to Fennec something along the lines of he doesn't want bounty hunters to get killed after being caught up in the plots of bad employers. But his relationship with Jabba seems like one he brought upon himself. The reason Fett is in Jabba's Palace in RotJ is because he had just finished another job for Jabba and was just cooling off. You can see he's flirting with the dancers and probably just wanted some ass before he left.
