The Fantastic Four are one of the historic icons of superheroes. Yet, Reed is seldom known for positive things. He's known for going villain. He's known for having his wife cheat on him with Black Panther and Namor. (She's canonically kissed Black Panther. Whether she's gone all the way with either of them or not, she's acknowledged that she fantasizes about them.) He's known for being the boring member of the group when he's the leader of the group. Making him the token anti-theist is just adding another log on the fire. Don't get me wrong, they could make Reed an atheist and have it be a positive representation of a scientific mind. But this just seems like something written by a theist with a negative view of atheists or by an atheist with a negative view of theists. What does he say when he's about to die?
