I'm wondering what it would look like if he said I know that to most people, there is no context where a white person is ever allowed to say that word, nevermind publicly on a podcast, and I have considered that racist" or something similar.

But if he had said that, he wouldn't be JR. He's too open-minded and persuadable. His open-mindedness in inviting scientist dissidents on COVID-19 is the whole reason there is a campaign against him in the first place.

I think his history of being essentially a shock jock in the model of Howard Stern (and that is my impression of JR) is sufficient reason why he should not have a large media circulation in the first place. But that was decided differently many times over a long time ago; Howard Stern was (and still is) one of the most popular radio hosts in history, and for much of the reason Joe Rogan is explosively popular: because by their saying things that are scandalous most people think they express something with a sliver of truth that is not otherwise said. Now in Joe Rogan, we get someone who gets more hatred, and I think the reason for that is because he is much less "shock" and much more "talk." He is reasonable, he listens, he tries to persuade. He actually cares, whereas Stern doesn't give a crap.

And I consider that we are living in a time when media companies are more powerful, and using that company to censor speech and discussion, to the point that truth is suppressed. I place Gamefaqs in that category, for certain. We have long been at a point where we cannot know everything that is important to know without there being some sort of garbage attached to it. And the use of the n-word in a "not insult context" seems to me low-class, and not any places different than that.

I figure 65-35 this blows over and no one cares in two weeks.
