I haven't been depressed like actually like this since last year when my mom got Covid but shes fine now

I don't want this to feel gatekeepy, so hopefully it doesn't. And I don't even know if this is accurate.

But I always seen things like you getting sad about your mom as just that, sad. An emotion that will be remedied when the obvious thing causing it is remedied.

And depression is more lile what you're talking about now. Where, you don't know why and there is no "Id be happy if just for this". Depressed is when the things that would normally stop making you sad feel like absolutely nothing.

I just feel like the distinction is appropriate for trying to identify what's going on with yourself and how to attack it.

I'm glad your mom got better tho. My mom had it twice so far >_<. She also got mostly better. Enough to go across the country atm :3.

But, I made the distinction to, to get to saying that of you keep being depressed with no cause you can identify. It might help to talk to a professional. I literally just set myself up to talk to one earlier today scheduled for next Wednesday.
