Though the fact that the game witholds evidence from you (Sayaka's letter) suggests that I shouldn't think too hard about trying to solve the case before the trial I'm pretty sure you can solve every case before the trial in all the DR games, or at the very least you can get most of the details correct. For example (excluding 11037 since that was blatant) you solved the crystal ball thrown to turn on the incinerator before the trial, and only one person has that kind of accuracy to throw a ball. From this point on the trials get more complex though, and they don't outright tell you the culprit with something like 11037. But like you noticed, even if you know the culprit ahead of time, part of the fun is figuring out how they did. Hope you enjoy it!
