Your goal isnt to be the last one standing. you have a hideout you can build and tasks you complete. Hideout and tasks give purpose to the game imo. But its 100% optional. Building your hideout allows you to craft better gear. Doing tasks earns you rep with merchants so you can BUY and sell better gear basically when you go in a raid you can go in with the idea of completing an objective, killing players, or just looting. But if you die you lose everything on you that you took into a raid. the map also has scavs which are AI enemies with shit gear and weapons. Players can also spawn in as scavs if they wish, but late into the raid to leave the map you need to hit an extraction point.
