I can't imagine LinkedIn is great when it comes to looking through job listings -- since everything about the site is a mess -- although I'll get random offers now and again out of nowhere, just because my profile is set to public.

If you're using LinkdIn because you want to find a job, the best thing you can do is use it to figure out relevant people at a company you're interested in and reach out to them directly. Keep in mind a lot of jobs are filled without a job listing ever appearing anywhere, and some of those jobs are newly created when a candidate makes the case for that role existing.
