A data is mostly as valuable as what they can be used to lead the person into buying though. If you sold your data with the promise of purchasing other services, they would probably be worth quite a bit compounded. When others sell your data, it's under the assumption that there's a risk of that data having no inherent value, but there is an expected average returns, so like if 100 data is sold and it can lead to avg 5 people buying into your shit.

Like medical data is important because of other things becoming necessities, and you can be the sole provider.

I wouldn't say private info is entirely a nebulous goods, just one that could have no value or a lot of value depending on context
