And lemur I agree. Yes, the state of the game is daunting for a newbie or someone that came back after not playing for 20 years. But it's dumb to come back to a game after 20 years and not expect it to evolve.

Yes it's not perfect. Cards have whole ass essays on them. But that's just the learning experience. No one's gonna blame you for slow playing a bit to read cards. Hell, even as someone who came back 2-3 years ago, it's kinda cool playing this game and playing against a ton of decks you normally wouldn't run into IRL and learning about new cards. But I guess it's kinda just the Twitch and YouTube generation we're on where everyone is programmed to have the attention span of a fly.

Like if YGO isn't the game for you, that's cool and understandable. But don't try and come in on your high horse and whine that the game isn't catering to you. That's why I just laughed when earlier ITT the guy was like "I quit the game when they made the banlist because it locked me out of using good cards!" Like holy shit have fun getting FTKd then

For a lot of people it's not lack of attention span (hell, I'm an avid reader). It's the fact that you have to spend a couple of minutes on each card to read and understand all the effects. That just kills the pace of the game.

There's no "I attack with blue eyes white dragon" and then "haha you activate my mirror force".

It's "I attack with some bullshit named card" and then "hey wait a couple of minutes while I read."
